We wanted to let you know about an important update that may affect your next steps, if you previously held a CSCS card issued under Industry Accreditation (IA) and have not yet replaced it with the relevant skilled card for your occupation.

CITB has recently announced changes to its training grants, including bringing forward the end date for enhanced funding. The enhanced grant for those transitioning from IA is now available only until 31st December 2025 – not March 2026 as previously stated.

If you’re planning to stay in the industry and still need to complete an NVQ to get a new CSCS card, it’s essential you act now.

What you should do next:

Book your NVQ – Contact a recognised training provider as soon as possible to register for the correct qualification.

Check grant eligibility – If your employer is CITB-registered, they might still be able to claim support towards your NVQ.

Don’t delay – With IA cards expired and the funding deadline brought forward, acting quickly is key to avoiding disruption to your work.

The phasing out of IA is part of CSCS’s wider goal to help create a fully qualified workforce. Making sure everyone holds a recognised qualification supports consistent standards in skills, knowledge, and health & safety.

We strongly encourage you to speak to your employer or training provider now to get your qualification pathway underway and make the most of any remaining CITB funding.
