Farnham is a market town in the county of Surrey in South East England. Located within the Borough of Waverley, it is a town rich in history, with evidence of Stone Age, Saxon, and Roman dwellings found here. There are a wealth of old buildings, including many Georgian houses.
Looking over the town is Farnham Castle which was built in the 12th Century by Henry de Blois, the grandson of William the Conqueror. The castle is open to the public most days. Southeast of the town centre are the Waverley Abbey ruins, Mother Ludlam’s Cave and Moor Park House.
Farnham has a wide range of shopping opportunities; with both big-name stores and independent boutiques established on the town’s historic high street. There’s also a vast selection of restaurants, cafes, and pubs to enjoy. Farnham provides easy access to the North Downs Way, with this town being the starting point for this highly popular walking trail.
